In the Dancong style of Oolong tea making, tea masters from the Phoenix mountain region of Guandong Province have been celebrated for their skill in selective breeding, bringing out flavors in tea that mimic those of various fruits and flowers.
You Hua Xiang translates to "pomelo flower fragrance", and the dry tea does indeed smell floral, with the brewed tea having a bold tanginess reminiscent of citrus fruit, especially grapefruit, among its layered notes of flavor. Its flavor will linger on the tongue and about the mouth long after the cup is put down.
Our You Hua Xiang is medium-heavy roasted and will last for many infusions when brewed gongfu style.
