Yi Mei Ren is an exquisite Yunnan red grown high on Wu Liang mountain in Jingdong, Yunnan, by the Yi minority people who inhabit much of the region. Unlike many Yunnan black teas, this tea is vigorously shaken several times during the wilting stage, which thoroughly oxidizes and darkens the tea, giving it a longer shelf life than most and lending a smoothness to the taste, free of astringency. The color of the finished brew is a clear golden brown and the taste is sweet, reminiscent of chocolate.
A very nice, robust tea for daily drinking!
