An exquisite black tea from the Baoshan area of Yunnan, this tea was grown naturally and wild in the forest.
The Ye Sheng varietal is an ancient non-hybridized one which predates most other varietals used in commercial tea production. It produces leaves that are naturally purple in color and have a high pest resistance. Our Wild Purple Moonlight White tea is made from this varietal as well.
The taste of this tea is rich and complex with no astringency, with layers of fruit, spice, and a bit of maltiness. It brews up a yellow-orange tea soup which carries with it a potent and uplifting energy. Very infuseable.
Harvested in Spring 2019, this tea will last several years if kept sealed and away from excess heat and sunlight.
