Premium "Green Spring Snail" Bi Luo Chun Green Tea
A classic among Chinese Green teas, our premium Bi Luo Chun originally comes from Dongting Island in Lake Taihu, Jiangsu Province, where the tea was named "Green Spring Snail" by a 17th century emperor due to the tightly coiled shape of the finished tea. This particular source of Bi Luo Chun is high in the Wuling mountains of Hunan, 1200 feet above sea level. It meets EU standards for pesticide residues.
This harvest is from the first flush of spring 2021, picked by hand to the standard of one bud and one leaf. These buds and leaves are quite small, owing to the smaller leaves of the varietal itself, and its early spring harvesting. Its taste is nothing short of sublime, with fruity/floral notes predominating over a savory umami base. Radiant and well-balanced, this is an excellent green tea.
We recommend brewing our Green Spring Snail Bi Luo Chun at around 170-180f for 1-3 minutes, depending on the amount used and the desired strength.
