Not actually produced in Yunnan, but in neighboring Myanmar in the Kokang region, these cakes were pressed in 2006 in Kokang, than sold to a small distributor in Kumming Yunnan in 2015.
The tea is highly compressed. Even when prying with a pu-erh pick, one should take care not to injure themselves chipping off some tea! The tea liquor itself is worth a bit of struggle, however. Sweet and rich without any mustiness or astringency, this is an extremely drinkable tea with potent hui gan that will last many infusions.
