Premium Da Hong Pao Wuyi Oolong Tea
A very tasty and full-bodied oolong tea from the Wuyi mountains with a roasted, earthen character and potent cha qi.
While this tea has been in the recent past been famously expensive and considered among the rarest teas, it is now grown by increasing numbers of artisan tea producers, and as such is much easier obtained affordably.
Our Da Hong Pao has a fragrant pungency in the aroma and a thick minerality, with notes of wet stone, roasted grains, and seaweed. It imparts a vibrant energetic quality that is comparable to our roasted Tie Guan Yin, and its amber-tan liquor has a slightest bit of haze.
We recommend brewing this in boiling or near-boiling water. Using short steeps initially, it can be brewed about five times.
